Terry Duryea
Since leaving a career as a tech executive 15+ years ago, Terry broadened his focus. He used his leadership experience to become involved in his community, mentor entrepreneurs in emerging businesses & found a handful of tech companies as a non employee founder. His more recent community activities include as a member of the Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, appointment to the Los Gatos Town Council Financial Committee, and holding board leadership positions in not for profits providing housing & healthcare to seniors. As an alumnus of both Cal and Stanford, he is actively volunteers for both institutions. Terry also took up rowing again, having rowed in college, participating in masters national & international regattas.
Previously, Terry worked for McAfee Associates (MCAF-NASDAQ) from 1995 to 1997. He joined as VP & CFO and then moved into an operating role, with responsibility to monetize McAfee’s heavily trafficked website, grow McAfee’s consulting practice & corporate development.
Prior to joining McAfee, Terry was with 3 other technology companies over the previous 11 years–2 software companies and 1 medical device company. He joined each as CFO then moved into an operating rolls at 2. As CFO, he took one company public; sold one and after a string of 13 consecutively increasing sales and profits; & turned one around, preparing it for an IPO. His operating positions included VP & GM of Mentor Graphics’ Advanced Systems ASIC Group & acting VP sales for Unify Corporation. During this time, he set up operations in many countries, acquired 10 plus domestic & foreign companies & set up numerous joint ventures and strategic alliances.
Prior to becoming a businessman & entrepreneur, Terry was Partner in Charge of Deloitte Haskins & Sells, National High Technology Industry Group.
Terry has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business & a BS in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Univ of California Berkeley.
