The Department Manager reports to the Chair and is the highest-ranking non-academic authority in the Department and is responsible for performing the highest level of administrative and policy analysis on a broad range of issues for the Chair. Independently responsible for the overall administration of the Department, the Manager provides leadership and management direction within Industrial Engineering & Operations Research and the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology. The Manager is accountable for the following major areas of responsibility: Managerial Leadership, Strategic Planning, Budget & Finance, Academic Administration (including Student Services), Technical & Instructional Support (including IT), Human Resources & Administrative Management, Space & Facilities, and Special Programs.

Sonia manages the IEOR front office and is responsible for assisting IEOR faculty, staff, students and visitors with administrative and financial processes. She also coordinates and executes department-wide events such as the weekly seminar series, holiday party, awards ceremony and commencement reception. Anayancy is responsible for the student services office for graduate and undergraduate students in the ORMS, IEOR, M.S. and Ph.D. Programs. In addition to students services, she coordinates graduate admissions, undergraduate faculty advising, teaching evaluations, course scheduling, gsi/reader assignments and the following events: Cal Day, New Student Orientation, Visit Day and the Annual Commencement reception.

Eugene provides resources and mentoring for early-stage startups and manages the Delta Prize, an elite campus-wide program that has a strong record of helping startups accelerate their growth and secure venture funding. Eugene manages relationships with other campus startup programs and external partners including accelerators, venture capital firms, law firms, and global universities. For the NSF I-Corps, Eugene serves as the regional recruiter for the Bay Area node.
