Faculty Advising
Every student is assigned an advisor in their College. The
advisor provides administrative assistance and advice on College policy, and
monitor students' progress towards their degree. They will explain graduation
requirements, interpret College policy and regulations, and explain petitions. http://www.coe.berkeley.edu/students/current-undergraduates/advising/student-affairs-advising.html
In addition to your student affairs advisor, every engineering
student is assigned to one member of the faculty in their given field of study,
your Undergraduate Faculty Advisor.
You will need your faculty advisor's signature on your Tele-BEARS form. Also,
you will need the advising code from your faculty advisor in order to register
for classes.
Faculty advisors keep regular weekly office hours throughout the
school year for the purpose of giving advice on course information, academic
problems, career objectives, long-term planning, etc.
